Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are improved through upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the power of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved by a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged to increase their stats.
You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in the world as well as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while other components offer a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and offer a variety of benefits, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen, showing the expected stats after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components needed for a specific item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, but can be reduced using a variety of methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia or rune, and a lot of them are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades change the name of the item to add an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also enhance the retention of the message by triggering a familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph increases the value of a stat by certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.
The addition of a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to increase its value. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at once. This is helpful for those who take lots of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. item enhancement system give the player a brand new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, but they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is based on the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, however, players must be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls required to increase it to the final level. This effect of lowering is most effective on ring items and Diadems that do not have any competing ilvl-raising options.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow players to pay for it with money or food items which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest too much time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include an option to change the race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to boost the value of an upgrade for an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this the new item will keep its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In the majority of cases, a better roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also chances for greater or special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item which means that if you upgrade a rare or unique item to an extraordinary type it has a chance to gain an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrades can be costly, especially if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the base iLevel as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item will reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level, though. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.
The iLevel will also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance an item upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one will have the chance to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
